Fun in the Sun

We had fun blowing bubbles in the front yard! Pearson got a new hat this weekend to protect his sweet little skin from the sun!

We went for a walk to the park and Pearson enjoyed the swing again. Hope everyone else is enjoying the sunshine too!

Lunch video and Baby time at Library

Here is Pearson learning at new trick at lunch today! What fun!!

We have had a great morning! We went to Baby Time at the library. It was so much fun! A librarian lead us in songs, finger plays, stories and play time. There were other other mommies and babies there too and it was so much fun. We will definately go back. The public library is my new rediscovery lately. Free books, dvds, cds, and story time. Right up a former teacher's alley. Have a marvelous Monday friends:))

Superb Sunday!

Pearson plays so well and is so happy!! I was trying to get a picture of his two new top teeth coming in. Guess I will need to get the camera in his mouth practically.
We had our first baptism ever at our church today. Sorry I didn't get very many good pics, except of my boys. When I get a copy of the group one, I'll share it. :) It was very special to share in the baptisms of these sweet people. We also had a delicious pot luck lunch. :) Yummy!

Zoo fun!!!

We had a blast today at the zoo! There were so many new exhibits!

Pearson and I had a great ride on his first carousel ride! Brian does not like things that go around in circles. In fact, I am surprised he was able to complete this video.

We loved the new grizzly bear exhibit! The bears were playing and Brian caught it on video.

Family pic in the big chair! My sweet boys in their hats!

As you can tell we had a lot of fun!!! We love our family membership and that we can go back anytime! We didn't feel like we had to see everything, because we can go again! Thanks again, sis!!

The Tammi-Nator!-Updated

Hi everyone,

I have a great story to share with you. My sweet sister,Tammi, ran over our mother's foot last night! Evidently there's nothing quite like having an SUV sitting on your foot for several seconds before being backed off of it. Her very creative husband has created a photographic tribute to commerorate this occasion in the life of Britney Spears (oops, I mean Tammi). Enjoy!

PS...Tammi wants me to explain how this horrific accident happened in the first place. You see, our parents tend to linger a little too close to the car whenever family members, especially grandchildren leave. They stay, and stay, and stay. So Tammi was jokinly going to drive off. Well, that didn't go so well. David decided to also write a song...here it is (sing to the tune of the Hokey Pokey):

You put your left foot in, you put your left foot out,
You put your left foot in, you get it squished all about,
You scream and cuss and holler then you realize what you learned...
LEAVE WHEN IT'S TIME TO GO!

You learned your lesson, Patti!
Don't you linger, Patti!
You learned your lesson, Patti!
LEAVE WHEN IT'S TIME TO GO!

Your daughter loves you dear, there's no question of that,
She's really sorry, dear, that your foot's so big and fat,
At least you learned your lesson and maybe now you'll know...
To only hug us once before we go!

You learned your lesson, Patti!
Don't you linger, Patti!
You learned your lesson, Patti!
LEAVE WHEN IT'S TIME TO GO!

Update: Mom is recouperating well from the incident. There were no broken bones, just bruises and a lovely stylish boot to wear for a while. So she may have to wait on her stylish flip flops. :))

Last MOPS for this semester...

Hello friends,

Today was our last MOPS session for this semester. It was such a great time to visit, eat yummy food, and relax! MOPS has been so good for me to meet other women, chat with other moms, and connect in this way. I truly love and appreciate the women in my MOPS small group! And it gives Pearson a time to be away from Mommy, which he does have to learn to do, and learn that I will come back for him. :))

Day of Gratitude

Have you ever had a day where you are just filled with gratitude? Well, today is one of those days for me. Here are just a few of the blessings I am just so filled with gratitude about today:
-Grateful to be Pearson's mommy
-Thankful to be Brian's wife
-So grateful for God's love, grace, and mercy in my life
-Thankful for my home to dwell in and the blessings and memories in this place
-Grateful for tutoring opportunities that God has brought to me lately
-Thankful for the food we eat and creativity and time to prepare dinners each night
-Grateful to be home with Pearson each day and care for him in our home. I am truly grateful to be his stay at home Mommy.
-So grateful for my Bible and all the richness and lessons it holds every time I open it
-So grateful for my precious extended family
-Very grateful for my dear friends who hold special places in my heart

I could go on and on. For some reason today God placed a spirit of thankfulness in my heart and I just thought I would share. Enjoy your day!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day to my sweet Mom and many amazing Mommies I know! I hope you all had a fabulous day!! I am very grateful to be Pearson's mommy! It is my highest honor and responsibility. We had a great day! We went to church, hung out this afternoon while Pearson took a 3 hour nap(I think this was his Mother's Day gift to me), went to the park, and cooked a delicious dinner and watched the Survivor Finale. All what I wanted to do today! I was showered with sweet gifts from my sweet husband, precious son, and sweet Mom and Dad. Brian and Pearson got me a gift card to get a mani and pedi!! Thanks sweeties! I can't wait to get my toes and nails done, what a treat! And my mom and dad gave me a beautiful James Avery charm! I can't wait to add it to my bracelet! I love it! Thanks!!!! Enjoy all the pics of the day!

These are beautiful tulips that we have in our yard! I love them and we didn't plant them, the previous homeowner did! Thanks to her! I don't know who picked out Pearson's "I love Mommy" outfit?!?!

Pearson and I at the park ! A picture of our fabulous dinner! I know it is silly, but I thought you would all like to know what we had for dinner. :))

Planting flowers!

Hello all! We had a good weekend! On Sunday Brian got some new flowers for the front porch so Pearson and I assisted in the planting. Can't you tell how much we are helping? We were blessed with a gift card to a local nursery to purchase something in honor of Carol Ann. Brian has a project in progress. Once it is completed we will post pics.

Date Night!!!

Brian and I were so blessed by our friends Rich and Robin who so generously gave us a gift card and babysitting treat for a date night!! We had a delicious dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Pearson seemed to have missed us and cried for a while so we quickly came back to his relief only to find him sound asleep (Thanks, Robin) So we enjoyed chocolate cake with our dear friends and then brought our sleeping baby home! We had such a delightful night! We can't remember the last time just the two of us have gone out. Sorry no pics, I forgot the camera! Maybe I can take a pic of Brian and I this weekend! :)))

Thanks Rich and Robin and Aubrey for the amazing ways you bless our lives! We love you!

A Blessing at MOPS!!

Ok, you will have to bear with me on this post! God totally blessed my socks off this morning at MOPS! For those of you who know me well, know that I love to worship the Lord through song and one of my favorite worship leaders is Shannon Wexelberg. She is an amazing, Godly woman with an incredible heart for the Lord! I first heard and met Shannon a few years ago in McKinney. She came to McFBC for a summer series concert and blessed my life then. She and her husband also learned to wait on God's timing of when to enter parenthood. She wrote an amazing song called "You are in the Waiting" that totally describes how so many people feel when experiencing infertility. I felt so moved after hearing her at McFBC that I went up to introduce myself and talk to her. Well, she lives in Colorado. And I remember telling Brian when we moved here "Oh, do you think I'll ever see Shannon or go to her church by chance?" Well, God is so good. Shannon often leads worship at a local church here in Colorado Springs!! So in December Brian and I visited this church just to see her! I talked to her again and expressed my appreciation and shared our blessed Pearson with her! It was a special time indeeed! Well, as I walked into MOPS this morning, there she was!!!! I was so excited to know that she would be leading worship at MOPS today! So again I went to talk to her and say hi and welcome. Well, she came to sit at my table with my group!!! I was so honored! Everyone in my group I am sure thought I was crazy!! So like any big fan I had my picture taken with her.

She did an awesome job again sharing from her heart and teaching on Philippians 4:6 that says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, WITH THANKSGIVING, present your requests to God." She shared how God has taught her about thankfulness and how we need to thank God in the midst of our un-thankfulness. And to voice our thanks out loud. She also said to look for things to be thankful for and voice those things too. She also reminded us as moms of our significance to God and how we and everything we do in the course of our day is significant to God! It was so great to hear her and see her! If you are ever interested in hearing her voice and learning more about this special lady go to http://www.shannonwexelberg.com/ She has blessed my life and I hope she does yours too! Thanks for listening to my neat, God story today!

Another blessing is that Pearson was such a good boy he stayed in MOPPETS the whole time!! Yea! That way I was able to be blessed more!
