So yesterday was a glum day for me. Do any of my other mommy friends sometimes think or feel like "I just don't have it in me today!" You know what I am talking about, the planning of meals, preparing of meals, serving meals, cleaning the meals, disciplining your sweet children, playing referee a lot, the laundry, and so on. You know all the things we do to make our homes run smoothly. Well yesterday I was one tired momma after being awake with Aaron most of the night(not sure what his main pain was) and then just wasn't feeling the energy to do it all. So I did what I do: I pushed through and then called my #1 supporter, my sis! We hashed it all out together and then I took a 2 hour nap! Ahhh, that helped! Then I played outside with my kiddos in the sunshine in January and that helped too! Then the slump hit me again later in the evening and my husband was so sweet to me and encouraged me to take some time for me. Being the stubborn gal that I am I didn't listen very well. But then this morning he got up with our precious boys and I stayed in bed! Yea, I don't do that very often! So sweet of him!
Then this morning when we were planning our Saturday, he says, "Well, why don't you call your parents and see if the kids can play there tonight while we go out to dinner?" So I did and date night is planned! I think he knows this momma needs some time away and with him! Yea! I also went grocery shopping alone and stopped by Starbucks for an afternoon tea! Love all these gift cards we were blessed with at Christmas!
So all in all, what I wanted to say is sleep and sunshine sure do make me feel better! I am very grateful for both!
Cherishing every moment together on this amazing journey as a family!

Another TX perk...
is being able to see dear friends who are in the same state (even if just for a visit)!
I was so blessed to be able to see my amazing, best friend from college, Kathy:We had an awesome time hanging out and catching up! Love you friend!
I also had the opportunity to see one of my closest, bestest teaching friends, Jenny!
We had a great time at a fancy mall! Love you friend!
Both of these dear friends bless my socks off!
They both met my sweet boys for the 1st time and that was so fun!
Once again, God knows I am a gal who loves me some good friends and He always provides me with such sweet dear friendships!
A few cute pics from January...
We have had a great start to the year! Here are a few snapshots from our month so far:
All four of us smiling, it's a miracle!
Sweet Pearson and Mommy!
Sweet Aaron and Mommy!
Our precious boys!
Pearson likes to lean his head in for pics with Aaron! Thanks Nana for the matching, cute sweaters!
It even snowed in Texas! The boys built a snowman and I hurried them inside!
The boys got matching new hooded towels that they look so cute in!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I cannot believe it is 2011 already?!? Where has the time gone?! I listened to an an awesome speaker at MOPS this morning and have so many thoughts rattling in my brain, that I thought I would just blog about it all. The speaker's name was Lane Jordan and I will now be following her blog at http://www.pathwaystoorganization.com/. She was an amazing speaker for mommies! She said so much of what I needed to hear today! It has a rough week at my house with a sick son and husband. I am so ready to have a healthy house and going to MOPS today was just what this mommy needed.
So if interested, here are a few of her points that really spoke to my heart:
-Being a mommy is the toughest job out there, but that being said God has called me to be the mommy to Aaron and Pearson and to be the best mommy I can be.
-There is so much on our plates these days and we need to be as organized as possible. She talked a lot about organization(which I love). She has even written a book called “12 Steps to Becoming a More Organized Mom“.
-She encouraged us to use a calendar for the whole families' activities and to make a list of all the things I want to do and then plug in the activities. She talked about meal planning too. :)
-She encouraged us to read to our children, eat dinner together every night at the table and, have a special place where I pray and spend time with God in my home. So much of what she said I already do, but it was confirming to hear it all again.
All in all God knew I needed to hear everything she had to say today. Thank you God for this Godly woman who spoke today.
