Merry Christmas 2010!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! It was our first Christmas back in Texas! While we missed the snow of Colorado a little we didn't miss traveling 12-13 hours to get here to see family. :) We were able to attend 4 family events in 4 days but every night we slept in our own beds!!! Yea!!! That was awesome! Sure we were a little tired after those four days, but so worth it to see family and celebrate Christ with all of them.

We began the fun by going to see my Papaw and my Dad's side of the family! It was fun to have many of us back in my Papaw's sweet home. Then we continued the fun by having a Christmas Brunch with Brian's side of the family at Keith and Tiffany's house. It was fun to play there and see more special family. Then on Christmas Eve we went to a family candlelight service at our new church. The boys sat on the floor during the "children's time" of the service. Then later that evening we put out reindeer food on the lawn and porch and a snack out for Santa. Pearson said he thought Santa would like carrots, pretzels, and cheeze-its! So that is what we left him and he ate it all!!! We read the Christmas story together and tucked the sweetest boys we know in bed, so Santa could come! Then we awoke to new goodies! We spent most of the day on Christmas day at our house and that was heavenly!!! The boys played, played, and played! Later that afternoon we headed to my mom and dad's house for Christmas with my family. The boys were spoiled rotten there, but very blessed! Then the next day we headed to Brian's dad house for Christmas with him and Brian's brothers. We had a very blessed, special Christmas!

We hope you and yours did too!

A few of my favorite things...

Ok sing along with me! "These are a few of my favorite things!" I have fondly noticed a few other bloggers sharing a few of their favorite Christmas things and I got inspired to do the same!

Other than these three amazing guys there are a few things in our home that we use to decorate at Christmas time that I love, so I thought I would share them.

As many of you know I love Willow Tree Angels. I love the sweetness and simplicity of them. We were very generously gifted this entire special nativity set when my precious mother in law went to be with Jesus. I love putting it out every year in her honor. She used to leave it out all year long in her house. I especially loved this year how Pearson talked about all the parts of the nativity set and everywhere we saw another one he would say "There's Baby Jesus!" so excitedly!

This year we splurged and bought stockings for each of us! It was so fun to look at them all month. Then it was even more fun to watch the kids open the things Santa left for them in them.

This is one of my favorite Christmas ornaments! It reminds me of the real meaning of this season! Funny thing is, I took it to a Ladies Ornament exchange a few years ago and stole it from another lady because I loved it so!

This is my favorite room of our house. It is where we put up our tree this year. All of the furniture in this room came from my sweet mother in law's house. I love to sit on the red couch to think, pray, journal, talk on the phone, or do whatever comes to me.

These are a few of my favorite things. Hope you enjoyed them!

Happy Birthday, Jesus, Party/Playdate!

We had the privilege of hosting a playdate with our new sweet friends! We decided to have an early "Happy Birthday, Jesus" party. We let two sweet preschool boys decorate the cake! What were we thinking?!?! It was tons of fun and still delicious!

Look at their happy faces to decorate with all of those sweets!

Our sweet toddlers, who are weeks apart, didn't know what to think!

All four of our precious babes eating a little cake!

I forgot to take a picture of the cake before I cut it, oops! Better late than never, right?!
Look at all those sprinkles! I think Pearson put one whole entire section of a six part Wilton decorating container on the cake!

Look who decided to "belly up" to the peanut m&m's after all the fun! Like Mother, Like Son! He knows where the good stuff is in this house! This little mischievous thing pushed his chair over to the tall counter top, climbed up, and helped himself! Thankfully, Mommy caught him in time!

As always, God meets my every need and God knows I am a gal and mommy who needs friends! And God has blessed me again with special ladies at our church in our new town who also have a love for God, their babies, their families, and friendship! I am thankful for my new friend who could come to our playdate and I am grateful for my new friend who wasn't able to make it! We missed you!

Polar Express Party at Church

We are thoroughly LOVING our new church! We feel God has immensely blessed us again with an amazing place to worship and grow with His people. Early in December the children's minister and her helpers planned an amazing Polar Express Family Christmas party. The kids wore their pjs, had a snowball fight, drank hot chocolate and watched the Polar Express. We had a ton of fun! What a fun way to start the Christmas season!

Fort Building

So Brian built forts for the boys and they had a blast! They loved building them and then destructing them right after!

Toy Story Jammies!

We are now an official Toy Story watching family! We now own Toy Story 1 and parts of it get watched at least once a day! The boys love it! I was grateful when I found these cute jammies at Walmart for a steal! Such cuties!

Then we were excited to learn that their cousins have matching jammies too! Such fun!

Happy Halloween 2010!

We went to an event in our down town for trick or treating a few days before Halloween. We had a lot of fun seeing fire trucks, seeing new friends, and getting some candy. It was a little more crowded than we had anticipated and we didn't stay too long. :)

Thankfully, a friend took a family pic of all four of us! So grateful for this pic! The little things that make us mommies happy and grateful!

Pearson looking at a real fire helmet. A little bit bigger and heavier than his.

Our little Elmo!

The best and cutest fireman in town!

On Halloween we went trick or treating in our neighborhood.

Our sweet boys all dressed up!

I loved that Pearson called Halloween "Hallowoon" and on Monday morning he asked when we could go there again, as if it is a place. I tried explaining it is a once a year event!

Introducing....

Fireman Sam! So Pearson loves the show Fireman Sam on the Sprout channel and many times pretends to be him. I love the imaginative, pretend play at this age! Here he is putting out a fire in the fire place. He even told his MOPS teacher today that his name is "Fireman Sam"! She even drew him a picture of a fireman and wrote "Fireman Sam helps others." I loved that she tied in what he is interested in into their Bible lesson! What a teacher!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to a fun pumpkin patch last week! Here are a few pics to capture our fun time!

Our precious pumpkins:

Happy Fall Ya'll says it all!

"Mom, I think this one is just my size!"

More Bobcat Football Fun!

We love going to Daddy's football games! We usually eat and sit during the first game and then the boys have to run and play during the second game! Don't know why I didn't get both the boys with Daddy in one pic, but oh well! Look at those big grins, especially on Daddy's face! He loves that we come to see him coach.

The boys got to run on the field while the players warmed up.

Open House at the Fire Station...

We went to an open house at a local fire station last weekend. The boys had a blast! They served free lunch, gave tours, and gave out fun freebies.

Here are the boys giving "Sparky" a high five and hugs!

Here is Pearson talking so passionatley on his new cell phone. I wonder where he has ever seen anyone talk on the phone with such feeling? Haha!!

The boys are spraying down a small house with a real water hose!

Eating a little lunch on the fire house floor.

The best pic of the day! Our two blessings in front of a pond and fountain. Love them!
